I’m also delighted to be able to bring all our guests to thePark Plaza Riverbank, where the stunning decor will matched only by the quality of the finalists.

“I am so pleased that, after everything the industry has had to weather over the past 18 months, that we are able to go back to hosting an in-person event, with real, live people to mix and mingle with. If the test is negative – we look forward to welcoming you to the awards. If it is positive, please respect your fellow attendees and do not come to the awards.

Boost your business in 2018

Companies within the builders’ merchants sector that have excelled over the past twelve months are encouraged to kick-start their business in 2018 by entering the first ever BMJ Industry Awards.

The BMJ Industry Awards will shine a spotlight on the building industry’s most outstanding people, merchants and brands. Those that wish to put themselves in the running, or nominate another outstanding company, should visit the BMJ Industry Awards website and complete the quick and easy online form ahead of the Friday 23 February deadline.

Designed with the industry in mind

Having served the construction distribution supply chain for almost a century, the Builders Merchants Journal (BMJ) has an unrivalled insight into what is integral to the success of the sector and have designed the ground-breaking Awards scheme with this in mind.

The awards are split into three sections to cover the broad spectrum of the sector; ‘Brands’, ‘Merchants’ and ‘People’.

The brand awards cover a whole range of sectors, from kitchen to landscaping, plumbing to roofing and even an award for the best distributor.

Merchants can put themselves in the running for awards that recognise everything from creative marketing campaigns to innovative online initiatives. There are also separate categories for independent and multiple merchants so businesses can be recognised for what makes them excellent, irrespective of their size.

Lastly, but certainly not least, are the people awards. Customer service and sales representatives who continuously go the extra mile and individuals that work tirelessly to raise the profile of the industry have the opportunity to get the recognition they deserve at the Awards.

Each entry, subject to meeting the necessary criteria, will then face a public vote to decide the winner – a factor that solidifies the BMJ Industry Awards as the only awards scheme designed to provide a platform for industry opinion.

Save the date for a celebration of excellence

The inaugural BMJ Industry Awards luncheon will take place on Friday 18 May at The Brewery, London.

The awards ceremony will provide a unique opportunity for the whole industry to catch up and make new connections whilst celebrating the successes of the past twelve months.

Tickets to the luncheon are in limited supply, so those that wish to attend are encouraged to visit the BMJ Industry Awards website to secure their place and avoid disappointment.

Want to show your support?

The BMJ Industry Awards has already receiving the backing of major industry names, with Hanson Cement and Stelrad joining existing sponsors BA Clic Components, H+H, Knauf Insulation, Marsh Industries, Marshalls and Stonemarket.

Get the ultimate stamp of industry endorsement

Entries are now open for the first BMJ Industry Awards, and there has already been a huge response from the industry thanks to the ground-breaking format of the awards scheme.

Builders Merchants Journal (BMJ) holds the title of the longest running industry publication after serving the construction distribution supply chain for nearly 100 years, and is using its unrivalled platform to make sure that the voices of the industry can be heard.

Whilst shining a spotlight on the incredible brands, merchants and people within the sector, the Awards will hand the power back to the very individuals that make the builders’ merchant sector so great. Breaking the industry awards mould, every single winner will be decided by a public vote.

No paper forms, no fuss

The organisers of the BMJ Industry Awards recognise that time is in limited supply, so with that in mind the application process has been made quick and easy.

Those that wish to put themselves in the running for an Award, or nominate another incredible brand, merchant or individual, simply need to visit the BMJ Industry Awards website and submit the relevant information via the fuss-free online form which can be found here: https://bmjindustryawards.co.uk/enter-nominate/

What happens next?

Entries and nominations that are deemed to have met the necessary category criteria will then progress to the voting stage. Members of the industry will have the opportunity to show their support for the brands, merchants and individuals that they truly believe in by submitting their votes via a secure online form.

With no selected judging panel and no behind-the-scenes decision making, the BMJ Industry Awards will offer the industry a truly transparent awards scheme that is reflective of industry opinion.

More than just Awards

Not only will the BMJ Industry Awards honour those deemed the very best within the sector, it will also bring together the whole industry for an afternoon of celebration and networking.

Set to take place in London in May 2018, the event is anticipated to attract key figures from all corners of the sector. With the gathering of such a vibrant industry, it is sure to be an afternoon to remember.

Get involved

As the only industry awards scheme that is decided entirely by votes, sponsoring the BMJ Industry Awards is the perfect opportunity for brands to put their weight behind the voices of individuals within the industry.

With a range of bespoke sponsorship opportunities available, there is something to suit every budget.

Sponsors will enjoy a strong presence in the Awards’ marketing campaign, across both print and digital platforms, reaching a highly focused and engaged audience in the lead up to the event. Further to that, sponsors will also feature heavily at the Awards ceremony itself, where industry giants and key players are all set to be in attendance.

Brands that have already pledged their support include BA Clic Components, H+H, Marsh Industries, Marshalls and Stonemarket. Sales and event manager, Max Shannon, notes that this early industry support is a sign of things to come for the event: “The BMJ Industry Awards is essentially still in its infancy, yet there is already a huge buzz within industry about it. We’ve received backing from some huge names and have already seen an influx of entries and enquiries about the Awards – it really is shaping up to be an unmissable event for anyone within the builders merchants sector.”

For more information on the sponsorship packages available, contact Max Shannon on 01622 699148 or at mshannon@datateam.co.uk.
